SHNU: The work meeting on foreign affairs of SHNU was held to review the work of 2008 and deploy work for 2009 on January 12. SHNU Vice President Lu Jianfei attended the meeting. Also present were leaders and staff from relevant colleges and departments. The meeting focused on three highlights of the foreign affairs work of 2008: first, 2 overseas Confucius Institutes of SHNU have been established and one more will be approved for establishment the next year; second, 13 international students from 7 countries have been accepted by SHNU with a grant of National Scholarship each; third, many high-level international conferences have been hosted by the university over the past year. In 2009, the university will concentrate on such issues as high-level academic cooperation, bilingual courses, talent pool of teachers of Confucius Institutes, Xuesihu Overseas Master’s Forum, etc. Representatives from Foreign Languages College, Fine Arts College, etc. spoke to swap experience.
