This May, the 2023 List of ICM/MCM(Mathematical Contest in Modeling/Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling) was launched: 3 candidate teams from SHNU won the Finalist Prize, 8 SHNU teams won Meritorious Winner Prize (the first prize) and 9 SHNU teams won Honorable Mention (the second prize). The outstanding achievements of these SHNU students broke a record in the university history.
Particularly, the Finalist Prize involves an exceedingly challenging awarded rate of only 0.17% and SHNU boasts three teams winning this prize at the same contest.
Started from 1985 and 2000 respectively, the MCM and ICM were both sponsored by Consortium for Mathematics and Its Applications and attracted thousands of universities and institutes from 20 countries and areas. Focusing on the originality, team works and rationality, the MCM and ICM would select the most cutting-edge papers for prize-winning.
