The China UNESCO National Committee would as always bolster up the development of most developing countries in terms of teacher education, particularly, the construction of teachers’ academic qualities for African countries.
The SHNU President Yuan Wen extended her gracious welcome to the visiting Tanzanian education officials and math teachers and hoped that this opportunity would provide more possibilities of mutual learning and cooperation in facilitating the future of math education in both China and Tanzania.
Liang also was quoted as saying that the World Bank has been offering a large quantity of technological and financial assistance to Shanghai City Government, SHNU and SHNU UNESCO Teacher Education Center. Three factors would be created for reforms: outstanding technology from Shanghai, funds support from the World Bank and leadership and autonomy of Tanzania.
After the welcome ceremony, arts troupes from SHNU College of Music and Shanghai Xuhui No. 1 Central Primary School staged arts shows of Chinese traditional culture for the visitors.
To further promote China-Tanzania education exchanges, a memorandum was signed between SHNU UNESCO Teacher Education Center and Tanzanian National Education Institute on March 30th. According to that, Tanzanian education officials and math teachers were invited to exchange in Shanghai to deepen cooperation in fields of math education, explore practical experience of teacher education and provide more impetus to Tanzanian basic education development .
