On occasion of 461 anniversary of Xu Guangqi’s birthday, and the 28th World Reading Day, the 2023 World Reading Day Salon kicked off at Zijiawei Library. Dong Limin, director of SHNU Division of Social Sciences, and Wu Yanxin, Director of Culture and Tourism Bureau of Xuhui District, Shanghai, released the title New Age Shanghai Culture Research Center.
After two years of preparation, the Research Center opened and started a senior forum on Analyses of History, Connotation and Values of Shanghai Culture. Further, SHNU has established preliminary cooperation with Xuhui Government. The New Age Shanghai Culture Research Center was officially found on April 22nd, 2023.
A theme report on Lights of Xujiahui was also delivered by Su Ziliang, Director of SHNU Urban Culture Research Center.
