Recently, SHNU research team led by Qiao Yongli, professor from SHNU College of Life Sciences, published at Plant Biotechnology Journal, a research paper titled Phytophthora sojae effector PsAvh113 associates with the soybean transcription factor GmDPB to inhibit catalase-mediated immunity. It reveals the mechanism of how GmDPB, a soybean transcription factor, controls the soybean blight.
Phytophthora is recognized as one of the most devastating phytopathogen, posing a severe threat to agricultural production and ecosystem. According to the paper, PsAvh113 is a necessity to develop the toxicity of Phytophthora sojae.
The following is a model for PsAvh113 to function in soybean immunity.
Professor Qiao is the corresponding author, and three other students are the co-first authors. The research has been funded by NSFC( National Natural Science Foundation of China), SCST(Shanghai Municipal Committee of Science and Technology) and Shanghai Municipal Education Commission.
