On February 19th, Liu Guangyong, Vice Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipal Government, visited SHNU and some international students stilling staying on campus. The students were encouraged to overcome the difficulties of a Covid-19 stricken period. The SHNU Vice President Jiang Mingjun received the visitors and introduced about the measures and situations of combating the epidemic.
A Working Team of Preventions and Control Group for International Students was established immediately after the virus started to spread. Meanwhile, online courses have been ready for these international students.
Liu confirmed what has been done to guarantee these students’ life and learning at SHNU and hoped that they could work hard to learn Chinese. These international students from the Burkina Faso (Africa) and the Republic of Panama received the first batch of Shanghai Government Scholarship to study at SHNU, in fact, they also acted as the envoy of Chinese cultures.
The international students also thanked the leaders and the university for visiting them during this special period.
