SHNU Students Majoring in Accordion Achieved Outstanding Results at the 20th China-Singapore International Music Competition Global Finals

Recently, at the 20thChina-Singapore International Music Competition Global Finals held in Singapore, four students from the accordion major of our university's School of Music—Feng Jingrui (master's student in Keyboard Performance), Xia Yuting (undergraduate in Music Education), Xu Yilang (undergraduate in Music Education), and Shi Qianhao (undergraduate in Music Education)—won first prizes in the Open Works Group, Self-Selected Popular Works Group, Self-Selected Ethnic Works Group, and Self-Selected Ensemble Group respectively. Notably, Feng Jingrui achieved the highest score in the Open Works Group, earning the top honor of the competition.


The China-Singapore International Music Competition is a highly influential and large-scale international music event in Asia, featuring a dedicated accordion category. Organized by the Gade Music Research Institute (a member of the International Music Council under UNESCO) and the China-SingaporeInternational Music Competition Committee, it brings together contestants and professional judges from multiple countries, serving as a vital platformfor music students worldwide to showcase their skills and exchange learning experiences. In this competition, four of our students demonstrated a cross-border musical dialogue through diverse styles, from repertoire selection to stage performance.


The award ceremony and closing ceremony of this competition were held at the Singapore Star Performing Arts Centre.
