Recently, the award ceremony for the 22nd"Huawei Cup" China Graduate Mathematical Modeling Contest was held at China University of Mining and Technology. Over 600 participants, including award-winning faculty and student representatives from across the country and members of the expert panel, attended the event. Two teams from SHNU—comprising three master's students from the School of Mathematics and Physics and three master's students from the School of Information, Mechanicaland Electrical Engineering—won the national first prize. The "China Graduate Mathematical Modeling Contest" is jointly organized by the China Association for Graduate Education and the Youth Science and Technology Center of the China Association for Science and Technology, with guidance from the Department of Degree Management and Graduate Education of the Ministry of Education. This year, the contest focused on key areas such as national defense security, emergency management, ecological environment, artificial intelligence, bio-pharmaceuticals, and high-end manufacturing. A total of 24,371 teams from 631 graduate training institutions worldwide successfully participated in it.
Over 200 graduate students from various colleges of SHNU formed 68 teams to participate in the competition, ultimately achieving outstanding results with 2 teams winning the national first prize, 9 teams securing the second prize, and 14 teams receiving the third prize.
