SHNU Professor Pioneers in Winding up Expo Painting

18 May 2010

SHNU:A 250-cm long and 31-cm wide picture of 2010 Expo scenes originates from the idea of Sun Xun, a reputed SHNU professor, and was created by the group of scholars with brain storming.
Starting from Sheshan of Songjiang District in Shanghai, the work involves images of Longhua Temple, Lupu Bridge, Nanpu Bridge, Bunds, Huangpu River and Lu Jiazui. The China Pavilion, among other ones, is depicted at the center of the painting scroll.
Since last October, Prof. Sun has thought of expressing a broad range of landmark scenic spots of Shanghai in a hand-painted scroll. He organized a few SHNU alumni and artists to complete the grand work after 8 months of painstaking work.
Head of China Museum of Fine Arts inscribed a heading for the picture.
The painting shall also be presented by SHNU president to Shanghai Mayor for review.
