SHNU Students Win Runner-up in Network Debating Competition for Universities in Shanghai

         On December 24, the network debating competition for universities in Shanghai, directed by Shanghai Municipal Party Commission of Science and Education, and Shanghai Network Publicity Office, and hosted by the East Day network, bore witness to SHNU students winning runner-up after 10 days of fiercely intense contest. The debating team is composed of four students.
         Vice dean of Shanghai Network Publicity Office hosted the award conferring ceremony, attended by leaders from Shanghai Municipal Party Commission of Science and Education, and Shanghai Municipal News Office.
         The debating competition started on December 14, and over 10 universities in Shanghai participated, including Fudan and Shanghai Jiaotong University. The teams fall into 5 groups for heated games at initial, quarter-final and semi-final stages, taking the form of judge panel marking and netizens’ voting at the same time. During the competition, there have been more than 800,000 clicks, 19,353 valid online messages, and more than 8 million votes for revival appeal. The competition has drawn an amazingly great attention and won unprecedented popularity, surpassing all the past records of university network debating competitions.
