Ikeda Daisaku Employed as Emeritus Professor of SHNU

         On December 17th, Ikeda Daisaku, who is the World Peace Ambassador, Honorary Head of Japan’s Soka Gakkai, Head of International Soka Association, renowned educator, social and religious activist, poet and photographer, was endowed with the title of Lifelong Emeritus Professor of SHNU. Lu Jianfei, Vice President of SHNU, conferred the certificates and delivered a speech.
         Mr. Lu highly praised Ikeda’s role in the normalization of Sino-Japanese relations, development of friendly bilateral cooperation, and historic contributions to world peace. Formal invitation has been extended to him for academic visiting and workshops. The ceremony was held in the Special Hall of Tokyo Soka University, and over 200 people from all walks of life including those from the press attended the ceremony.
         For years of commitments and achievements made in exchanges and cooperation among universities of different countries, Prof. Lu was awarded the honor certificate jointly assigned by Ikeda and Yamamoto, President of Soka University. The Seikyo Shimbun, the third largest newspaper of Japan, had a special coverage of the conferring ceremony and themed on the development of SHNU. A reputed magazine named Pumpkin interviewed Prof. Lu on the site.
