18 Dec 2007

SHNU: At our invitation, a Japanese folk chorus with its tenor of “Remembering the past and looking to the future” came to our university and jointly presented programs with Senior Citizen University Chorus and Xingzhi Girls’ Chorus of our university. Aiming at marking the 70th anniversary of Nanjing Massacre and the 35th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, this performance was also one of the serial activities of the 2nd SHNU International Arts Festival.
The songs of the chorus represented the sorrowful scenes of the past and expressed these Japanese people’s deep penitence, moving audience to tears. The two choruses of our university also sang some classic Chinese songs and won big applause from the audience.
The one and common wish of the members from both China and Japan was to keep away from war and spread love and peace all over the world.
