Our University Attends the Second Global Confucius Institute Conference

SHNU: The Second Global Confucius Institute Conference was held in the Great Hall of the People on December 11. Representatives and 210 heads of Confucius Institutes from 64 countries gathered in Beijing to discuss how to promote Chinese culture by developing Confucius Institutes. Vice President Lu Jianfei attended the conference on behalf of the first SHNU Confucius Institute to be established in Fuku Yama of Japan. He met the new president of Fuku Yama University and the two sides exchanged views on the establishment and future development of the Fuku Yama Confucius Institute.

    Chen Zhili, member of the State Council and Zhou Ji, head of the Ministry of Education, spoke at the conference. The conference featured large scale and wide range of topics. Representatives held heated discussions on such issues as the aims of running Confucius Institute, its rules and regulations, teaching materials, sources of funds, etc.
