SHNU: Scholars and experts from universities in the U.S., Germany, Canada and those from insurance companies and banking gathered in our university to discuss the trend of international insurance market. They also shared their views with our university on the mode of cultivating students. School leaders Xiang Jiaxiang, Lu Jianfei and Li Hexing attended the opening ceremony held on Nov. 2.
During the two-day seminar, experts and scholars aired their views on such topics as “Insurance Innovation in Times of Globalization and Informatization”, “The Status Quo and Developing Trend of Commercial Life Insurance in China”,” A Catastrophe Model That Suits Classroom Teaching”, etc.
Statistics show that up to September, 2007, there have been 81 insurance companies, 5 insurance assets management companies and 233 insurance intermediaries in Shanghai. Experts say that Shanghai’s insurance market will continue to witness a fast development as well as increasingly fierce competition in years to come. Meanwhile, there is a market demand for financial talents. It is hoped that this kind of international seminar could offer the latest information in the academic circle, widen the scope of view for both teachers and students and contribute to the talent cultivation of our university.
