University of Botswana Seeks Cooperation with Our University

SHNU, Oct. 25: Prof. Frank Youngman, Vice President of the University of Botswana in Africa, with his two colleagues, Dr. Nobantu Rasebotsa, the head of Humanities Department and Prof. John Holm, head of Office of International Education and Partnerships, came to our university for a visit. Vice President Xiang Jiaxiang met the guests. Leaders from ICCS and International Exchange Division joined in the conversation.

    The Botswana guests expressed their will to enlarge the areas of cooperation with institutions of high learning in China. They said they would like to avail themselves the opportunity of signing the "Agreement on the Establishment of Confucius Institute” to seek cooperation partners in China. Mr. Xiang made an introduction of our university and expressed our willingness in cooperation. The two sides exchanged views on the teaching of Chinese in detail.

    Besides, they had a talk with Prof. Shu Yunguo, chief of the African Research Center in the College of Humanities and Communication. They probed into the possibilities of cooperation in scientific research as well as in exchange projects of teachers and students in the field of African study.
