October 15th marked the opening of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, a vital event in China’s political affairs. Teachers and students from all departments and colleges of both campuses of SHNU watched the live TV broadcast of the meeting. Some of them even took notes while watching and listening attentively. Many applauded with delegates on the screen as if they were on the scene. Those things relevant to the general public mentioned in the political report given by Hu Jintao received bravos, to wit, developing and flourishing socialist culture, ensuring that all the children received education and all the workers receive pay, old people get pension and support, all the people enjoy medical care and residence.
Furthermore, a group consisting of dozens of teaching staffs shall be off to publicize the spirit of the 17th CPC National Congress across SHNU. The 17th CPC National Congress will last for 7 days. |
