SHNU, Sep 10 : A 2007 theme entertainment gala called Teacher, Out Common Name organized by Shanghai municipal government was staged at the Shanghai Grand Theatre. Party secretary of CPC of Shanghai government Xi Jinping, vice secretary and mayor Han Zheng, director of standing committee of Shanghai People’s Congress Gong Xueping, Chairman of CPPCC Jiang Yiren, and other leaders of the city including Yin Yicui, Ding Xuexiang, Hu Wei, Yang Dinghua, and Xie Lijuan attended the gala as spectators.
The College of Music and the College of Xie Jin Film and Arts of our university made a wonderful performance including a dance Anthem to Red Flag, a short skit Beautiful Miracle, and report play My Crystal-clear Heart. Leaders of our university watched the performances.
The two former programs have been on show for many times, winning great popularity with the audience. My Crystal-clear Heart is a poem recital based on the heroic deeds of a teacher He Baogen who rescued his student from water but drowned himself in a big wave and died. The play expressed the deep grief of He’s students, colleagues and his wife who could not bear the fact that he died so young, only at the age of 45. My Crystal-clear Heart is a completely new play and the theoretical effect was excellent.
Over 60 teachers and students from the two colleges mentioned above played an active part in making the performance a complete success. By arriving at the university about 15 days in advance, they rehearsed on sizzling hot days again and again. The heads of the university and subordinate colleges have been concerned about the progress of the run-in by making repeated presence on site.
During the recent month, the program has been frequently rehearsed and revised, going towards perfection. It was supposed to be acted out as gifts and good wishes to all the teachers on this special occasion of celebration.
