SHNU, Sep 7: A Memorial Meeting was held in Foreign Guest House in memory of Professor He Baogen, who gave up his life to save one of his students in Chongming Island on August 9. School leaders Zhou Honggang, Lu Jianfei and Zhang Guofeng attended his memorial meeting. Also present at the meeting were He Baogen’s wife Zheng Jianyu and other teachers, experts and students.
Zhang Guofeng, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Committee of the university and Party Secretary of Tourism College, read out the decision to confer the title of Model of Teacher Ethics on Prof. He Baogen, calling on all the staff and faculty of the university to learn from him and become teachers with high moral standard, professional knowledge and strong love for their students. Some of He Baogen’s friends and colleagues recalled his deeds from different aspects, and they expressed their will to learn his noble spirit, do their job well so as to contribute to the development of SHNU.
In closing, Zhou Honggang, Secretary of CPC Committee of the university, encouraged all the people present to carry on He’s unfinished work, learn from him, and work more enthusiastically to raise all the work of SHNU to a new height.
