From October 7th to 8th, Lu Jianfei, SHNU Vice President and Huahua, Chinese Head of Confucius Institute of Botswana，attended the Conference on African Confucius Institutes Development in Beijing, the headquarters of Global Confucius Institute.
Zhou Ji, Head of China’s Ministry of Education met the attendants with Head of the Office of Chinese Language Council, and Head of the International Chinese Language Teaching Association. 20 university presidents or foreign heads of Confucius institutes from 13 African countries, and 15 university presidents from China shared their experience in founding the Confucius institutes in Africa, focusing on the discussion of the forthcoming obstacles and future development mode, social functions, fund collection, dispatch of Chinese teachers, and training of African indigenized Chinese language teachers, volunteer participation, curriculum design, textbook compiling, and Sino-African educational and cultural cooperation.
