A German education media delegation of 14, led by Dr. Stefan Aufenanger, Vice Head of Social Science, Media and Physical Education of University of Mainz in Germany, visited SHNU, and was received by Lu Jianfei, SHNU Vice President. Aufenanger was conferred a souvenir medal, which is a traditional SHNU gift to each overseas scholar attending the Xuesihu Master Forum of Shanghai Normal University. Aufenanger delivered a speech entitled The role of New Media in Teacher Education in Germany, followed by a heated seminar in terms of the influence of modern information technology on teacher education and learning modes. As a bellwether in European media education circle, Aufenanger is also a member of EU Expert Commission of Media Literacy, and Academic Boards of the Advertising Educational Forum, and Head of Academic Commission of Stiftung Lesen, one of the most influential Reading Foundation in Europe.
