On October 6th, all retired SHNU cadres celebrated the Double Ninth Festival, a traditional holiday on the ninth day of the ninth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. This is a holiday in China to show respect to old people. Li Jin, SHNU President, clicked onto the website of SHNU retirees as its opening, and delivered a speech to extend gracious wishes to the retired cadres. Also, greeting cards were distributed for wishing them hale and hearty. Rehabilitation and health seminars were held, ensued by a luncheon party attended by SHNU leaders, heads of different departments and those seniors. (Trans. by Rebecca)
