Recently, SHNU professor Li Hexing was awarded by National Science Fund as a Distinguished Young Scholar. This fund is regarded as one of the ultimate fund of NSFC (National Science Fund Commission). Li was the first SHNU professor to win the reward of its kind.
Li’s program, dealing with environment purification and new functional material for pollution control, certifies his distinguished scientific achievements with a grant of 2 million RMB (rounded to $286,000). This fund receives applicants, within 45 years of age, who has accomplished creatively in terms of basic natural science, and promoted significantly the development in the related realm or disciplines.
