On August 31st, over 5,000 newly-admitted students celebrated the beginning of their university life on the south sports ground of Fengxian Campus of SHNU. It was attended by SHNU authorities, Zhou Honggang, Li Jin, Jiang Weiyi, Huang Gang, and Lu Jianfei, the presider.
Li Jin was quoted by saying that students should bring into full play their spontaneity and exert their unremitting efforts in an attempt to accomplish themselves in scientific research and self development. Jiang Weiyi also addressed that students should temper themselves and honour team spirit in the rigorous military training. Most attendants interviewed expressed that they had been fully prepared to take the first challenge of campus life, namely, the training, and imbued with great expectations for the coming four years in SHNU.
