From November 15th to16th, the 5th Global Forum on Teacher Professional Development was held at the UNESCO Institute for Teacher Education. With the theme "Teaching in Transformation: Needs and Expectations," the forum adopted a hybrid format combining offline participation and live-streamed online sessions, attracting enthusiastic engagement from over a thousand faculty and students across universities worldwide. Former UNESCO Assistant Director-General Getachew Engida, Andreas Schleicher of the OECD Directorate for Education and Skills, Carlos Vargas Tames, Head of the UNESCO Working Group on Teacher Development, and dozens of experts from Austria, Germany, Israel, South Korea, the UK, the US, and China shared insightful perspectives during the event.

At the conference, the English version of the UNESCO Institute for Teacher Education website was launched. During the keynote presentation session, four experts from both domestic and international backgrounds explored the reshaping of teacher roles and professional development pathways from diverse perspectives in the context of educational transformation.

On the afternoon of the 15th, three roundtable forums centered on cutting-edge educational topics were held successively, featuring over ten scholars from both domestic and international backgrounds.
