At the noon of May 28th, a charity auction sponsored by SHNU Office of Discipline Committee, was held to extend loving care to those suffocating in the May 12th Wenchuan catastrophe. All bidders, supposed to be SHNU staffs (students excluded), vied with each other for the 28 gifts presented gratis to the school authorities who dutifully submitted to the Committee, as in congruent with probity regulations. A sum of RMB 9,280 Yuan was mustered up, with an approximate hike of RMB 3,000 from the bidding price.
The funds for the jumble sale shall be earmarked for the remedial work after the earthquake. (Trans. by Rebecca) |
