SHNU: A UNESCO delegation visited SHNU on May 22. Helene-Marie Goselin, principal resident representative of UNESCO, and Shen Xuesong, official of UNESCO, were received by SHNU President Li Jin and Vice-President Lu Jianfei. Also present were relevant staff from International Exchange Division and Tourism Institute of SHNU. Ms. Goselin expressed her great interest in such disciplines of SHNU as Tourism, Economy and Environment, saying she would make an effort to bring closer the relationship between the UNESCO and SHNU. Since Mr. Goselin was appointed resident representative of UNESCO in 2006, she has been playing an important role in coordinating affairs related to funds and programs of UN. She was once designated by former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan to be in charge of two World Expos in Portugal (1968) and Japan (2005). (Trans. by Jessica) |
