SHNU Goes All Out to Collect Money for Quake-stricken Area

SHNU:  Nine days after the largest earthquake to hit China in 3 decades, SHNU is still going all out to help the quake-stricken area in various forms.

    May 21 witnessed a series of activities in this respect: members of SHNU Disaster-relief Team gathered to work out better ways to help the quake-hit area; a charity bazaar was organized and over ¥170,000 was collected; 4 medical staff in the university hospital donated ¥40,000 (¥10,000 each) that was originally used as their traveling expenses; a former leader of SHNU (then Shanghai Teacher’s College) and his wife  (aged 92 and 82 respectively) donated ¥200,000; Zhang Yulian the Dean of the Department of Sociology of SHNU was sent to Mianyang County in Sichuan province for investigation.
