SHNU: On May 16, the “2008 Meeting on Training the Management Staff of International Students in Higher Education Institutions of Shanghai” was held in SHNU. Co-sponsored by Shanghai Education Commission and Research Association of International Students in Shanghai higher education institutions, the meeting was attended by officials from Shanghai Education Commission, Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office, Exit-Entry Administration Bureau of Shanghai, etc. It was also attended by the management staff of the international students from other 28 universities in Shanghai. SHNU president Li Jin and vice president Lu Jianfei were present. The meeting witnessed a discussion on how to strengthen the management of the exit and entry and the legal residence of international students. People concerned also exchanged views on new policies and trends in the management of international students. The meeting affirmed the progress of SHNU in settling the issues related to international students in recent years. (Trans. by Jessica)
