On May 13th, a delegation of 2 led by Amir Lati, Vice Counsel of Israeli Embassy in Shanghai visited SHNU, and was received by SHNU president Li Jin and SHNU vice president Lu Jianfei. Mr. Lati visited SHNU to know more about Li’s visit in the University of Haifa, Bar-Ilan University, and Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel, which is supposed to function as better connections of interscholastic cooperation with SHNU. It is learned that SHNU will hold the Show of 60th Anniversary of Israeli Independence at the request of the Israeli Embassy in Shanghai, with the theme of Israel and China of Ancient Civilization, Today’s Friends for Future Partners. On May 14th, Lu Jianfei, SHNJU vice president met with Dr. Jon W. Stauff, director of International Education Center of Radford University in US. Dr. Stauff had talks with heads of SHNU International Affairs Department, and SHNU College of Fine Arts.
Representative of Radford University showed concern for such SHNU disciplines as economy, education, Chinese language, Chinese culture, history, fine arts, calligraphy, musicology, theology, philosophy, and martial arts, etc. Academic exchanges are supposed to be established, and consensus will be reached in terms of student exchange and bilateral teacher visits. It is known that Radford will winnow top students to take Chinese courses in SHNU, and in turn, SHNU will dispatch some Chinese language teachers to teach or study in Radford university. A student delegation majoring in fine arts will be sent by Radford for a short-term visit, and SHNU teachers may make a 3-to-6-month-long tour in Radford as visiting scholars, or hold a short-term seminar.
