The Juyuan Middle School of Dujiangyan city in Sichuan Province was razed to debris, which plunged over 700 teachers and students into burial. On the afternoon of May 15th, SHNU held charity performance for the reestablishment of the school, with swarms of spectators attending to donate. SHNU leaders heralded as avant-gardes to see the disaster-stricken people through.
There were poem recitals, power point play, solos, followed by charitable movie shows with proceeds directly channeled to relief funds. In all, it has leapt at ¥26295.1, as the original ¥5 ticket was sold at a voluntary price of ¥10 to 100. It is noted that by 6pm of May 15th, SHNU donations had rocketed to more than ¥800,000, among which ¥600,000 shall be transferred to China’s Red Cross, and the rest shall be earmarked for the rebuilding of Juyuan School. Apart from that, the noon of May 21st shall witness the benevolent sales on Xuhui Campus; Film revenues of Fengxian Campus will be directed for relief. Moreover, students of SHNU Qiushi Sculpture Association carved quite some artifacts for sale at the price of ¥50, which shall all be used for donations. (Trans. by Rebecca) |
