On the afternoon of May 13th, sponsored by Shanghai Municipal Commission of Education, and Shanghai Water Authority, the first batch of Shanghai Water-saving University (campus) was announced at the Working Meeting of Water Conservancy Promotion.
Shanghai University of Sport was crowned as Shanghai Water ConservancyModel. University, Siping Road Campus of Tongji University, and Yanchang Road Campus of Shanghai University won Shanghai Water Conservancy Model Campus, and Xuhui Campus of Shanghai Jiaotong University, North Zhongshan Road Campus of East China Normal University, Xuhui Campus of North China University of Science and Technology, Dalian Road Campus of Shanghai Foreign Studies University, Guoding Road Campus of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Changning Campus of East China University of Politics and Law took the title of Shanghai Water Conservancy Campus. It is a common obligation for university teachers and students to facilitate the progress of a water-friendly campus; on the other hand, strengthen the trend of saving resources and environmental protection shall be prioritized for more efficient exchanges of successful experience among campuses. It is also imperative that we contribute to enabling 90 percent of universities in Shanghai to be a water conservative by 2010. Despite that SHNU was not listed in the first batch，there have been a multitude of water-friendly activities, with marked changes made on campus. (Trans. by Rebecca) |
