A major earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale jolted Wenchuan County of southwest China's Sichuan Province on May 12th, and SHNU teachers and students are thus a bundle of nerves. Early in the morning of May 13th, they inquired about the procedures involved in urgent donations.
A resolute decision was made by SHNU to open a bank account for the reception of donations, which is named as May 12th Loving Care Relief Fund. SHNU Red Cross, Commission of Spiritual Civilization, Worker’s Union, Youth League Union, and Women’s Federation co-worked to propose for more efforts from the teachers and students to help the disaster-stricken people ride out of the catastrophe. From now on, this bank account is ready to receive funds from a department by way of internal transfer, whereas individual funds shall be collected to be delivered to SHNU Department of Finance and students’ funds should be dealt with after mustered by SHNU Youth League. It is noted that the first lot of fund shall be transferred to Shanghai Red Cross on the afternoon of May 14th. (By Rebecca) |
