12 May 2008

SHNU: On May 8, a delegation from Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) paid a visit to our university. The delegation was headed by Ineta Savickiene, deputy dean of School of Political Science and Diplomacy of VMU. International Exchange Division and College of Humanity and Communications of our university met the guests.

The visitors came mainly to seek partners in institutions of higher learning of China. Ms. Savickiene showed great interest in establishing interscholastic cooperation with the College of Humanity and Communications of our university. She hoped our university would become their first partner in China. The two sides exchanged views on such issues as conducting short-term student exchange programs, inviting teachers of our university to VMU to deliver lectures on Chinese history and culture, or to cooperate in doing academic researches in certain areas.

Founded in 1922, VMU is one of the most open and modern universities in Lithuania. The university has particular strength in disciplines related to humanity. With 10 schools and 350 courses that are taught in English, it has established interscholastic cooperation with over 150 foreign universities.
