SHNU: Young teaching and administrative staff of our university spent a special Youth Day on May 4. A meeting was held to celebrate the holiday. University vice Party secretary and vice president Jiang Weiyi, heads of the university labor union and woman’s union, and representatives of colleges and departments attended the meeting. Jiang extended the holiday wishes to the young on behalf of our university and congratulated the winners of various talent shows on their success. She pointed out that the university has been attaching great importance to the development of young people, encouraging them to work even harder to contribute to the better development of our university. As young people account for half of the teaching and administrative staff of our university, they are playing an important role in the development of our university. The university labor union and woman’s union jointly held a series of activities from Sept. 2007 to Mar.2008, which involved 5 kinds of talent shows: calligraphy exhibition of pen writing, Chinese writing brush writing and chopstick writing; bilingual speech contest; arts exhibition; encyclopaedic knowledge competition; and PPT making competition. About 200 young teachers and staff members took part and some of the winners showed their talents in the meeting. (Trans. by Jessica) |
