Drama “Shang Yang” Involves Half of SHNU Graduates

02 May 2008

In the youth actor cast of “Shang Yang” currently staged in Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center, nearly half of the actors hail from SHNU College of Xie Jin Film and Television Arts.
To commemorate its centennial anniversary, Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center rehearsed “Shang Yang” (a politician of Qin Dynasty who advocates nation-wide reform by enacting new laws), which is among the excellent dramas in China’s stage arts program. The roles involved a group of newly-rising youngsters born in 1980’s, staging a young edition of this drama. 8 graduates from our university played the chief roles among the total of 18 actors.
This drama requires much of actors’ understanding of the lines, literary background, artistic skills and etiquette gestures. All these SHNU graduates successfully brought into play their portray of the roles, which transcended the due maturity of their actual age. This show has gained popularity from the audience ever since its going public in April.
