SHNU: News came that our university was awarded the honorary title “Advanced Collective” in 2007 in the serial activity of “High Art into Campus” on April 21. Officials from Shanghai municipal government presented the prizes to winners. He Yunfeng, the head of Publicity Department of our university, received the certificate on behalf of our university. Since last year, performances of various art forms have been invited to be staged in our university including ballet, drama, opera, etc. Students can enjoy these high arts without walking out of campus. In addition, the university authority has appropriated special funds to subsidize the students in buying tickets. Therefore the students can have access to high arts in Shanghai Grand Theatre and Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre at low price. The year 2008 will witness more performances of this kind. It is said that a fabulous Peking Opera Yu Chenglong-An Incorruptible Official that has won many state-level prizes will be staged on Fengxian Campus of our university. (Trans. by Jessica) |
