SHNU: On April 21, Ren Qiliang, vice director of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office (OCAC) of the State Council, inspected the training programs of teachers of Chinese in South-east Asia that are being carried out in our university. Ren was accompanied by SHNU president Li Jin and vice president Lu Jianfei. Li said our university would try our best to provide the students with a good study environment as well as qualified teachers. In this way, we could contribute to the development of the Chinese-language education. Ren expressed his satisfaction with the training programs. It is reported that the training program will open such classes as “General Chinese Culture”, “Chinese Characters and Lexical Teaching”, “Grammar Teaching of TCFL”, “Chinese Calligraphy”, etc. Trainees will have to pass exams so that they can get certificates in Putonghua and TCFL. In addition to the lessons on Chinese culture, the class will organize the trainees to visit Shanghai Municipal City Planning Bureau, Shanghai Museum, Oriental Pearl Tower, etc. so that they can experience Chinese culture by themselves.
