John Ohala, professor of linguistics from University of California, Berkeley, and director of the phonetics lab, visits SHNU on April 15th, and delivered his speech with the title of Sound change and its relevance to understanding the mechanisms of speech communication. Li Hexing, vice SHNU president, conferred him the certificate of consultant professor, and offered the gift of commemorative Xuesihu Lake Overseas Scholar’s Forum.
