Information Commons of the University Library Conducive to Case Teaching

SHNU: Put into operation in 2007, the Information Commons (IC) of the university library has been playing a positive role in exploring new teaching models for undergraduate students, especially in case teaching reform.

    At present, the IC of the library of our university has reached the first-term cooperation agreement with the Financial College and Education College, and helped the former in conducting case teaching. Besides, IC also establishes blogs belonging to specific disciplines and offers consultative services, which effectively supplements the reform of case teaching.

    With the popularity of IC, its use in teaching is on the rise. Many teachers and students think that the introduction of IC not only fulfils the “Customs Supreme” principle of the library, but also accords with the goal of promoting disciplinary construction of our university.
