Shanghai Municipal Commission of Education Inspects SHNU Continuing Education

         April 5th witnessed SHNU meet with the commencement of inspection by Shanghai Commission of Education on continuing education work. All leaders and university staff from different departments attended the meeting.
         Gao Jianhua, assistant to SHNU president, said that this inspection could be regarded as the checking of our progress in continuing educational field, which was pertinent to the overall development of SHNU, and the interests of all working staff. Thus, lessons shall be drawn for establishing more standardized system of our continuing education department.
April 1st to 24th marks the period of an all-round progression of inspection work, including data collection and self-evaluation report writing. On April 23rd, the inspection group shall arrive on the scene to hear the report, clarify the data, inspect the off-campus education sites, do random auditing and attend teacher-student seminars.
         SHNU has made rapid progress in recent years, and now it boasts 15,000 students of continuing education, and the number of self-taught students for bachelor’s degree has climbed up to about 6,000, ranking one of the top among the universities in Shanghai.
