SHNU: On March 26, Yang Jianlong, professor of the College of Humanities and Communication and director of the Urban Culture Research Center of our university, was appointed as a specially engaged expert in policy-making consultation of Shanghai Municipal Government. Prof. Yang has published lots of academic papers on urban culture, in which he aired his original views on urban culture construction, community culture, TV culture, urban literature, etc. In 2007, two of his articles attracted attention of Central Publicity Department and Publicity Department of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, and the latter adopted his views on how to build an international cultural exchange center.
