SHNU: A meeting with the theme of “Approaching Tao Xingzhi” was held in Fengxian Campus on March 12. It was co-sponsored by Committee of the Communist Youth League of our university, Tao Xingzhi Study Association of Shanghai (TXSAS) and Research Center of Tao Xingzhi of SHNU. The meeting was attended by vice president Lu Jianfei and leaders from Tao Xingzhi Study Association of China and other teachers and students concerned. Lu pointed out that the basic thing to learn Tao Xingzhi’s thoughts was to read Tao’s original works while taking notes. It is also vital, Lu said, to integrate the spirit of Tao Xingzhi with advanced theories and professional knowledge. Tu Shaotang, secretary-general to TXSAS, introduced Tao Xingzhi as the great educationist of the people, pointing out that it was Tao’s high sense of responsibility and dedication to common people’s education that was worth learning. The head of the Committee of the Youth League of our university introduced the activity of “learning from Tao Xingzhi” which incorporates the concept of “Life is education” into this activity. Representatives of TaoXingzhi Research Association and Physical College shared their experience of how to learn from Tao. The teachers and students also exchanged views on how to learn the spirit of Tao Xingzhi. (Trans. by Jessica) |
