SHNU: News came that Cao Shujun, the father of a SHNU graduate student (named Cao Jun in the College of Law and Politics) died at his post in the deicing disaster relief and was conferred posthumously the title of revolutionary martyr. The university leaders took much account of this matter and sent representatives of the teachers to Cao Jun’s hometown, Guiyang County in Hunan Province. The representatives of our university conveyed deep condolence towards Cao’s family and gave them 10,000 consolation money. They also participated in the memorial ceremony and offered wreaths. The heroic deed of Cao Shujun deeply touched all the students in the whole College of Law and Politics. The college authority has decided to call on all the graduate students to carry forward the noble spirit of sacrificing one’s life for the benefit of the people so as to manifest their awareness of historical mission and social responsibility.
