SHNU：The SHNU Conference Center, which features modernity, conciseness and multi-function, was put into use on February 28. University leaders and heads from relevant departments and colleges attended the auguration ceremony. Zhou Honhgang, Party Secretary of SHNU, announced the formal opening of the center. President Li Jin, in his passionate speech, expressed his hope that the conference center would provide quality service and enable our university to host more high-level international conferences. The new conference center is geared to the needs of meetings of different nature. It is learned that the center has an area of 1,380 square meters and can hold 500 people. It has two lecture halls--one has the capacity of holding 180 people and the other, with a seating capacity of 120, is equipped with devices of simultaneous interpretation. There are also 7 small or medium-sized meeting rooms for 10 to 60 people. (Trans. by Jessica)
