Over 700 International Students of the Spring Term Start Their Study in SHNU

26 Feb 2008

SHNU: The 2008 Opening Ceremony of international students for the spring term was held on Feb. 21. The ceremony was attended by vice president Lu Jianfei and heads of International Exchange Division, International College of Chinese Studies (ICCS), College of Humanities and Communication and Financial College of our university.

Lu introduced the school-running features of our university, exhorting them to become Sino-foreign cultural messengers by studying the Chinese language and making Chinese friends. Two teachers from ICCS expressed their earnest expectations to the international students; five student representatives from the Republic of Korea, Japan and France spoke from their own experience and encouraged the new comers to study hard and cherish the life in SHNU.

It is primarily calculated that about 700 international students will start their study in our university from this spring, including 106 undergraduate students, 30 graduate students, 60 students on exchange programs and about 500 language students from 31 countries such as Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and France.
