On February 23rd, the first council meeting of Confucius Institute of Fukuyama University (CIFU) was held in SHNU. Li Jin, SHNU president, Xiang Jiaxiang, SHNU vice president, and Lu Jianfei, SHNU vice president and vice director general of CIFU, Wang Ling，Party Secretary of University of International Economics and Trade, Mr. Komaru, director of CIFU and FUKUYAMA Co. Ltd., Mr. Fujii, vice head of Fukuyama Municipal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Miyaji, director of legal person of Fukuyama University, Mr. Muta, its president, and Mr. Satou, vice director of Hiroshima University attended the meeting, with Lu Jianfei as the host. Li Jin addressed at the opening ceremony and congratulated on the founding of CIFU, which serves as a window for interaction of sino-Japanese exchanges of traditional culture, and also an arena of international ones. It promotes the cooperation in educational, industrial and political fields of both China and Japan. Lu said that SHNU shall send the copper statue of Confucius as a gift for CIFU, which is sculptured by our teachers and students.
