30 Jan 2008

SHNU, Jan. 29: These days, Shanghai is said to be suffering the heaviest snow in over two decades. At 7:30 this morning, the snow was still falling. SHNU vice president Wang Lianhua, accompanied by leaders of the Logistics Center, took the lead in sweeping the accumulated snow on the campus. He stressed that the all the departments should do everything possible to reduce the inconvenience that the heavy snow had brought to the life of staff, teachers and students of our university.

At 10:00, Wang deployed work to leaders of relevant departments, requiring them to assign tasks to people concerned and do the disaster prevention work in advance.

To assure a happy and peaceful Spring Festival, the university authority also put forward three “guarantees”: to guarantee the life and property of staff, teachers and students; to guarantee the food supply in the canteens; and to guarantee the traffic safety of school buses.
