On January 12 and 13, the International Symposium on Expanding Horizon of Linguistic Study was held in SHNU, participated by linguistic experts from Peking University, Fudan University, Nankai University, Harvard University, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, HK Chinese University, University of London College, University of Massachusetts, Language Institute of Social Science Academy, HK City University, National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) of Taiwan, etc.
SHNU president Li Jin and vice president Lu Jianfei met these experts and exchanged views with them on discipline construction of our university. Li said that an in-depth research in linguistics is of vital significance to enhancing academic strengths of SHNU, and extended his wishes for more linguistic symposiums to be held in SHNU, which boasts its edges in humanities. |
