SHNU: “To highlight features, establish brands and progress towards internationalization”— such was the next goal put forward in the foreign exchange and cooperation conference of our university held on Jan. 8. Some leaders from Shanghai municipal government, Shanghai Education Commission, and Exit Administration Bureau attended the conference. Our university leaders Zhou Honggang, Li Jin and others were present at the conference, which was presided over by vice president Xiang Jiaxiang. SHNU leaders awarded prizes to 7 model units and 12 individuals that did a good job during the academic year of 2006 – 2007. President Li Jin, beginning with the point of internationalization of universities, expounded the work on foreign affairs from four aspects: comparison, service, benefit and feature. Vice president Lu Jianfei delivered a keynote speech, which gave a comprehensive account of the work through analyzing the achievements, problems and measures. Yang Weiren, the International Exchange Division of Shanghai Education Commission, congratulated on our university’s outstanding work in this respect and analyzed the challenges ahead. The conference was also attended by advanced groups and individuals as well as administrators in relevant units.
