SHNU: The celebration of the 22nd Respect-for-the aged Day as well as a commendation meeting for advanced collectives and individuals in respecting and helping the aged was held on October 23. SHNU authorities including Zhou Honggang, Li Jin, Huang Gang, Wang Lianhua, Lu Jianfei, Li Hexing, Yuan Wen and Gao Jianhua attended the meeting and observed the festival with the old cadres and staff of SHNU. The Respect-for-the-aged Day falls on the ninth day of the ninth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, which is called Chongyang Festival, also known as the Double Ninth Festival. Among Chinese numbers, one, three, five, seven and nine are positive numbers and two, four, six and eight are negative ones. Thus, the ninth day of the ninth lunar month is called Double-Positive or Double-Nine.
